What is Sumatriptan used for?
Sumatriptan is used to treat migraines with or without aura. It helps relieve headache, nausea, sensitivity to light/sound, and other migraine symptoms.
Most people experience relief within 30 to 60 minutes. Nasal spray and injection forms may act faster than tablets.
You can take Sumatriptan at the first sign of a migraine. If the headache comes back, you may take a second dose after at least 2 hours. Do not exceed 200mg in 24 hours (or as directed by your provider).
